Founded in 2011, the Arizona Queer Archives is the first LGBTQI archives in the state of Arizona. As a collecting archives developed around a participatory ethos, the AQA works in collaboration with local community members to build our histories together. The AQA is an ongoing research initiative and archival studies laboratory of Professor Jamie A. Lee and is situated in the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona.
