aems emswiler
aems is a community archivist from Southeast Texas. They are the founder of the Inside Books Project (IBP) Archive and an Archival Fellow for the Texas After Violence Project (TAVP). From 2012-2020, they preserved and digitized the narratives of incarcerated people in Texas, and worked to provide information access for people on death row. Their PhD research at the UA School of Information builds on this work, exploring the relationship between archives and grassroots social movements.
