aems emswiler

aems is an anarcho-queer, guerilla archivist from Southeast Texas. They are the founder of the Inside Books Project (IBP) Archive and an Archival Fellow for the Texas After Violence Project (TAVP). From 2012-2020, they documented the impacts of carceral state violence on incarcerated people in Texas and worked to provide information access for people on death row. Their PhD research at the UA School of Information builds on this work, exploring how radical social protest movements and Black feminist, decolonial anarchism can inform archival praxes.
