Bianca Finley Alper

Bianca Finley Alper (she/her/hers) is Mexican-American and a descendant of a Tucsonense family born and raised in Tucson, AZ. She is a graduate student in the Library and Information Science Program in the School of Information at the University of Arizona. Her area of concentration is archives and special collections with a particular focus on representation and access for non-dominant communities in libraries, archives, and museums. As a Knowledge River Scholar her work focuses on the information resource needs of Latinx and Native American populations.

She earned a B.A. in Art History and an M.A. in Museum Studies at San Francisco State University and worked as a curator and exhibition producer in galleries, libraries, archives and museums. Her past curatorial and research projects have focused on transculturation and transnationalism in global visual culture and regional and local histories in archival and special collections.
